It saddens me to hear that a breast-feeding mother accidentally smothered her 4-week old child on board a United Airlines flight from Washington, D.C., to Kuwait.
The mother must have been devastated! This had been my biggest fear as well when Nat was a newborn. One way to prevent the accident from happening is to use your finger to indent the side of the breast near baby's nose. It would help your baby suckle properly and prevent you from falling asleep fully.
