Twinkle twinkle little stars
At 24 months, Natalie is able to sing twinkle star on her own! ...She even developed her own medley version where she would end with 'twinkle twinkle little star" and continues with ' How I wonder what you are...". It became a song that doesn't end! We had a good time repeating her medley version during the drive home from popo's place! Am so amazed at how quick she could now grasp the language.
Even for bahasa indonesia(BI), she was able tocommunicate in BI with my helper that her favourite top ie the long sleeved barney top was wet. Simple words like water, bathe, wash etc she had no problem conveying them in BI. There were couple of occassions where she shouted out 'Tikus', meaning mouse, when she sees one running across the garden. Cause ever since popo's place started the lift upgrading works where a portion of the garden has been removed to make way for machinery to enter the residential area, the mouse seems to have shifted their living squatters closer to the residential areas. Definitely hope they would shift further away once the building works end this month! Else we'll call the pest control.. or drop my mayor a note to get them to get rid of the infestation.

New background
Now that I am expecting a boy, we had to do away with the sweetie pink background for my blog and upload with a more neutral cloudish design. Keeping a printscreen just in case if I change my mind again! Ha this happens real often when I am pregnant =), always undecided on what I really feel like eating. It's not so much as hunger pangs that's spurring up my appetite now but more so that the glutton in me has finally broken free.
At about 11ish each day I would be coveting my colleagues' stash and constantly dreaming up the ideal lunch. Slurp! Just had a nice butter cake with tea for snack and baby and mummy are both feeling contented again... hope it lasts till dinner time =)

Anthill
Today's lesson was all about the letter 'a' . She made a really cute ant hill and was able to pronounce the word ant in madarin.
Natalie was so super excited when the teacher started distributing her name card, she shouted "barney" 3 times! Teachers finally saw a glimpse of her assertive side. But her shy nature kept her from rushing to take the name card from an adult. She would look towards me for assurance that it's ok to move forward to retrieve it from the teacher. We are hoping that this would improve in time to come.

Sleeping posture
Have felt ok sleeping on my back without realizing the impact on baby. Below Are reasons why it should be avoided:-
When you're sleeping on your back, the weight of your uterus lies on the spine, back muscles, intestines, and major blood vessels. This can lead to muscle aches and pains, hemorrhoids, and impaired circulation, which is uncomfortable for you and can reduce circulation to your baby.
Back sleeping can make blood pressure drop, causing some expectant moms to experience dizziness. On the other hand, in some moms-to-be it can make blood pressure go up.
Finally, back sleeping can cause snoring and, with increased weight, could lead to sleep apnea.

Sensible child
I must say Natalie is really good at tugging the heartstrings. Chris and I were both down with flu and had no choice but to quarantine her at mum's place. We would spend the evening with her and when it's time for us to leave, she would show a really sad face and gave us each a hug saying, "miss you" and "carry carry, go home" at the same time. We told her mummy and daddy had to go see a doctor and take medications. Once we recovered, we could then bring her home with us. She actually understood! And stopped her relentless struggle of wanting to follow us home. She even told our helper to bring her to the room so she could wave goodbye to us and see us drive off from the parking lot.
Not knowing this beforehand, we were about to drive off until Chris heard her calling out to us. Our hearts broke as she gave us a high five each and consoled herself by saying, "wait wait oh... Mama papa come back, come back!" Reminding us to come fetch her home soon. It was so difficult for us to leave her then... She stretched her little hand out to wave goodbye and stuck her face as far out as she could between the window grill so she could watch her parents drive off into the night...

Macs
Wanted to attend the GD course last Sunday only to realise that there wasn't enough intake to start a class so the place is totally empty. Worse! It's conducted at Midview City, which requires you to drive pass a temple, a morgue and walk across a 400m long hallway to get to the other side of the mall and end up at the office but not the school itself. Of course there is no one to answer our call since it's a Sunday, so we ended asking a group of security guards for direction. The school is situtated so far in that we were advised to drive in. Anyway when we finally got there, that's when we were told that they were not running the free trial at the stipulated slots. Was quite irritated with them and decided not to attend the school at all!
We ended up at Macs for a quick ice-cream snack and that saved the day for Chris and me! Natalie who sat near the entrance was telling naughty children off "No, No, No!" who were playing with the doors. We were amazed with how bossy she could be and though I told her their mums will look after them she seems more worried for them then their parents. This little girl is such an interesting character!

Word world
It's one of the first preschool series where words are truly the stars of the show! Kudos to the producer!
Keeping her toys
I must say that Natalie has been really well-behaved under the charge of Popo who taught her the concept of keeping her toys each time she is done with them. Particularly the flash cards, she would keep all of them one at a time going through the words saying "bye bye - green / blue" etc as she places them back into the box. She would also keep her crayons one at a time into the original boxes. I am utterly amazed when she started doing so since 12month-ish and now it's instilled in her and she automatically keeps them on her own. Once in a while she would ask for help, particularly if a card is stuck or when something is too heavy for her to lift, but those were the times where we'll be extremely happy to help. Hopefully, Natalie is able to help nurture her younger brother and cultivate the same good habits too!

22 weeks and congrats announcements
I'm reaching the half way mark for the new baby. Suppose nesting has started ever since my aggressive shopping over the internet today. Can't help it but feeling so excited and impatient for my little one's birth since 2 of my friends recently delivered! Great to hear that both are doing really well.
Theresa's child came early due to waterbag leakage, but baby seems big and strong and whole family seems real happy with the new addition.
Sarah's came at 39 weeks and both mummy and child seem happily settled with an experienced confinement nanny. Wanted her to help but she was booked in July! darn.. this one is really good could even massage, so the $2k is very well worth the money!
When Daniel passed me his baby, it suddenly dawned on me how much Natalie has grown from 2.94kg to more than 10kilos! I've forgotten how fragile and delicate babies felt at birth. It was dejavu cum increased apprehension to hold my baby all rolled into one! Chris is real excited as well... but of course we would rather baby remain in me till full term..and let me enjoy the pregnancy attention showered by all my loved ones for the time being!
Ohh I am so excited for everyone!!! Congrats to both parents!

Balloons & Her Fav toys
This is her first helium balloon, a free one distributed at the mall. It's a love hate relationship, she was thrilled at first, but after a while she doesn't want to hold it anymore. Nonetheless she did not hesitate to show off the new toy to mimi and her favourite toys ( Barney, Dibo the gift dragon, rabbit and bulldog) upon reaching home!

These were pics taken of Natalie at school. The theme that day was 'Gold' and we brought a pot of gold chocolate coins for Nat to distribute to the rest of the children.
This idea is an extension of her learning from Po Po who taught her to distribute sweets to all guests. She would do it shyly at first but manage to complete the task with loads of encouragement! After a while she knows it's a good thing to do and Chris decided to extent the concept to the school environment.
Teacher Jovanna brought her around during playground time to interact and share with her classmate. Fantastic sharing done by Natalie! She even repeated the names of her friends!
