At 8mths

This little boy at 8 months is showing some boyish character! He is Highly active and wants to be part of the action. He would twist and turn in your arms and place his weight down to get onto the floor, totally unafraid of falling over! He would crawl all over on his knees and When his knees starts to ache he would raise his hip and crawl on all fours, like a giraffe!

Nathan is quite a whinny baby who loves to be cuddled by people he knows! He recognises his favourite caregivers and ranks us in this order:-
First place : Me
1st runner up: gong gong
2nd runner up: yi yi
3rd runner up: papa, popo and my helper


He would laugh to his favourite tune of 'this old man' and attempts to sing along in his baby gibberish language where he goes "baa baa baas". His singing and laughter is super infectious and never fail to bring out the giggles in all of us! natalie would be the first to curl up with unstoppable laughters and exclaims "nathan is so funny!"

Natalie's school

Now that natalie has picked up some basic independence skills from the childcare centre, I've been fretting over her education for the past weeks! Been looking around for a good kindergarten that offers her an all rounded development as well as sound curriculum that would make the transition to primary school easier. Finally i settled my mind on dayspring kindergarten and decided to stick to my gut that it would be the best kindergarten for her.

Couple of observations helped facilitate the decision:-
1) it offers half day lessons so she could spend the rest of the day with nathan and bond with him.
2) teaching staff looks dedicated with long tenure and mainly singaporeans
3) good feedback and reviews from existing students as well
As forums
4) 2 teaching staff to a class - offering both english and chinese curriculums on daily basis.
5) quality of teaching materials ie flash cards, journals and artwork reflects creativity and up to date( ie current student's works)
6) outdoor play area
7) good hygiene level; zero case of hfmd


Key difference from other kindergarten is that the school is based near punngol marina and has a natural environment that gives one an adventure feel as you that take the drive through luscious vegetation before reaching a school thats set up next to a pier. Whats more the colour of the school uniform is in a nice bright and cheery lime green colour! It was an instant hit with natalie!

I cant wait to see her dressed for her new school! I have a feeling she will like it there!

Rainy days

Been raining cats and dogs for the past few mornings. Here's little nathan in his rabbit towel, keeping him from the elements! Such an innocent face!

Conversations

Natalie is sounding more and more like us! Below are excerpts of the little conversations that we had over the course of last week!


N: mummy i will buy you a present tomorrow.
M: sure what are you getting for me?
N: i think i will get some raisins for you.
M: oh really? Thats so sweet of you!
(here she picked up the habit from mummy who loves to buy things under the pretext that its meant for someone else.)


N:(makes an announcement) come here everybody! ... Come play with natalie! Come nathan, come mama! Are you ready to play?
M: (in a state of shock! As she sounds just as assertive as me!)

N: mimi ( name of helper) read this (she points to the letter "eye" in chinese)
Helper: erm sorry mimi forgot.
N: tsk! You arrr never listen 'sigh!'
(not sure where she got this from!)

N: papa, the sun is up we must get up! No more sleeping. I must drink my milk, change diaper and wear panty now.

N: ( places her head next to nathan's hands who grabs anything that comes his path) nathan! You are naughty! You pull my hair again! ( said in an accusative tone).
N: mana you must put him on the naughty chair! Nathan is a big bad wolf today! ( context: she dislikes the big bad wolf who blows the houses of the 3 little pigs down. Anyone who is naughty will be associated with the wolf).
