Respect

Little natalie is no longer the little baby who cries for what she wants... She has grown up more quickly than we realised. She has grown into that shy but confident and dependable little girl.
Today she threw tantrums over breakfast. According to popo, she refused to take her bread and whatever she was offered this morning. Mimi ended up having to cook oat for her. Popo was upset with her earlier refusals and reprimanded her. She went to school feeling angry and remembered the incident. upon return, not wanting to aggravate the situation, popo brought her for a walk. She asked Natalie why she was angry and Guess what she said?
"You never respect me! I don't want to eat bread and you never listen to me! So i am angry with you!" Popo was in shock to heAr this from her granddaughter! Her maturity caught her off guard at that juncture! I couldn't believe it as well when i was first told of her reaction, but this evening my daughter talked to me about having got to respect one another. How we have to respect her and of course i used the opportunity to reinforce her respect for elders and parents, but point is our little girl is fast maturing and able to handle big concepts such as respect! We were all impressed and surprised by her...we really have to watch ourselves and work doubly hard to set a good example.
