Day 5 & Big sister

Natalie has been really sweet to didi. Despite Being the eldest and having to share mummy with another di di, she took on the eldest sibling role with ease and demonstrates strong management skills when it comes to coping with Nathan's tantrum and Nathanael's cries.  She will always be there for her siblings! We are heartened to see that she has developed her independence and took on responsibilities willingly. We are so proud of her!
Here's Natalie and po po singing a song to Nathanael.  It's her first time singing to di di! There are definitely more to come!

Natalie - dropping the first milk teeth

Natalie did not mention that her front tooth was shaky for fear that we may sold her for not brushing her teeth properly I guess.

Whilst out having pancake with daddy, ye ye and nai nai,  her teeth started to twist and bleed.  She was afraid to swallow her blood in case  if she were to accidentally swallow her tooth as well. Mimi helped remove her dangling tooth and her heart sank with relief and burst out in tears... With overwhelming sadness for the loss of her tooth.

The little girl was happy again to here that the tooth fairy would visit and leave a little present for her.  She even wrote a thank you note on the little box.

There were tough questions asked though:-
1. How is the fairy going to enter the aircon room when windows and doors are closed. (Mum: they can fly through gaps and holes so don't worry about them. )

2. If I give her the tooth in the box,  wouldn't it be too heavy for her to carry it along? (Mum: Oh no they have magic dust to make the box fly off together with her)

3. What will I get from the exchange? ( mum: it could be anything let's wait and see)

4. Will she think that the tooth is Nathan's since he is sleeping next to me? ( so she wrote her a note with her name listed on the box)

What a beautiful brain... !

Details of the delivery - Day 2

We are both well! Uterus has contacted. Right leg had been numbed by the epidural but the sensations are slowly coming back to me now.  As shared previously,  the delivery process was very smooth.  My body reacted very quickly to the prostaglandin meds which is used to ripen the cervix and contractions started within 20 minutes.  Anesthetist Dr SY Chan was called in by 0730 to perform the epidural procedure. Chris recalled that I have previously complained about the postpartum aches derived from Dr Chan's administration and advised that I go with Dr Pay Lu Lu instead. Whilst it may seem better to select the Anesthetist with the most experience ie Dr Chan,  but I was wrong. I should have listened to Chris.  He had injected me at least 3 times with local anesthesia and the epidural needle. First 2 attempts were abandoned as he hit the nerve and made my leg twitch. Goodness!  I screamed in pain and he said "no need to scream. You need to curl better for me else I can't get the epidural space. " What a traumatising experience! Well at least he got it right the third try.  Not sure if the numbness and pelvic pain that I am experiencing now is due to the multiple jabs! What a horrifying process! Here you are having contraction and then there is someone who jabs your back.  But having gone through the torture I still appreciate the relief that came later and took away the pains of contraction to allow me to push with confidence.

We checked in at 633am and before mid day,  darling was out in my arms.  daddy was busy setting up the camera. He thought he may still have some time to idle around ....and wondered if he had sufficient battery life for his handphone....

However 3 pushes were all it took! A short 6 minute worth of precious moments! Of course by the time Dr Watt arrived,  I was 10+1 dilated!  Amazing crew of midwives especially Nurse Yong was around to encourage and assist!  I was glad she was around to guide me through the process given the lack of confidence with the Anesthetist,  I was wishing for someone like her to be there.
