Nats caught the flu bug

Both jie jie and di di caught the flu bug since CNY. It was agonising for me as both were demanding for the same attention! Being the eldest, natalie recovered much faster than nathan as she expectorates her phlegm using a million and one pieces of 3 ply tissues! She would pull out 2 to 3 pieces each time as she doesn't want her little hand to come into contact with her own saliva! Daddy would restrict her when he is home. But mummy having to nurse nathan at all times just don't possess the same energy level to monitor usage and stop her from wasting paper.

When nathan is sick he wont allow you to put him down in his cot! I had to carry him the entire day and situation worsen at night! He would want me to carry him upright throughout the night! I suffered from backaches and insufficient sleep for almost a week.

Never understood how a mother finds the extra energy to tend to kids, drive, and work overtime. If you ask me if it has to do with age? My answer is a clear no as i couldn't even stay awake for the sake of studying an exam when i was much younger. Life has definitely changed somewhat and motherhood seems to bestow women with formidable prowess to overcome sleep deprivation. I used to sleep like a log but now A slight stir from the baby and i am up. However, this trait does not rub off on the dads. Daddy could continue to sleep through a thunderstorm and on top of that loud baby screams at night! Its amazing having got to hear a persistent little girl shouting at the top of her lungs a zillion and one time"papa wake up!" before the daddy jumps out of bed, pretending with forced opened eyelids that he wasn't exactly snoozing and that he had heard her for the first time and reacted spontaneously to her cries. Sigh... Papa never knew that she had been trying to wake him up for the past half an hour and played on her own for another half hour before he finally pretends to be wide awake and jumps out of bed! So glad that woman and man are structured differently! Wonder what would happen to the kids if both parents react in the same manner :)
