Survived cny without surprises. Baby is still packing on the weight and gynae estimated his weight to be 2.5kg at this stage. He gained another 0.5kg over the last 2 weeks. My weight is now 67kg. Overall I've put on about 10kg.
At 36 weeks 4 days baby is shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered his body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected his skin during his nine-month amniotic bath. According to babycentre site, baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium that will form the contents of his first bowel movement.
At the end of this week, baby will be considered "early term." (Full-term is 39 to 40 weeks. Babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term, 41 weeks is late term, and those born after 42 are post-term.)
As for the rest of the family, Chris will be out of town from Wed to Fri. Hope baby will wait for daddy to be home and not pop this week!
Gong gong will be seeing a urologist today. I hope he will get some relief thereafter and condition improves. He has been tortured every night with sleep depravation and with another grandchild there may be more disturbances in the night.
